人類の誕生から700万年。進歩の兆しがない人類を見限った神々は、1000年に1度開かれる「人類存亡会議」にて、人類に「終末」を与える決議を行った。そこに戦乙女（ワルキューレ）の長姉・ブリュンヒルデは決議に待ったをかけ、超特別条項に基づく神VS人類最終闘争（ラグナロク）で人類の行く末を決めることを提案する。当初はその申し出を相手にしなかった神々だったが、ブリュンヒルデの挑発にプライドを傷つけられたことでラグナロクの開催を決定した。かくして、天界が誇る最強神たちと、秘術「神器錬成」で神器と化した戦乙女たちを伴う最強の人類「神殺しの13人」（エインヘリャル）による、13番勝負の幕が上がる。
Every 1000 years the gods gather to decide humanity's fate. At long last, the gods have grown tired of humans and decide to extinguish them. At the last moment before judgment is cast a valkyrie named Brunhilde steps in and asks the gods to let humans prove their worth in the battle of Ragnarok - a tournament where humans face gods one on one. There are thirteen fighters on each side, and the first group to reach seven victories wins. Gods from multiple pantheons face off against legendary humans from across history, each of whom is wielding a valkyrie who has transformed into a mystic weapon.
