会社内での陰謀により職を追われ、さらに住む家や所持金全てを失い貧乏になる男・金田一二三男を主人公に、ゼロからのスタートを切り、金では買えない物に気付いていく彼の前向きな生き様と、それに感化されていく人々の姿を描いたヒューマンコメディ。ストーリーはわらしべ長者が全体のテーマとなっており、金田一が手にした物や仕事も周囲との関わりにより変化していくのも特徴。

Жизнь складывалась отлично, пока он не перешёл дорогу новому президенту своей компании. Киндаити увольняют по обвинению в краже секретных документов, его квартира взрывается, на счету остаётся 30 йен, а мобильный падает в реку. И что бы он делал, если бы не двое мальчишек, которые помогают сориентироваться в новом положении и благодаря которым Фумио понимает, что некоторые вещи бесценны.

Even after that, he is assailed by a series of surprises and in one day, he loses his house, wealth and handphone until he is without a cent to his name. At his wits end, he comes to a park where he encounters two children. Learning from them how to survive even if he does not have money, he somehow weathers this crisis and discovers the truly important and priceless things in life.
