いよいよ明日から夏休みという一学期の終業式の午後、2年生の美夏は絵の具を教室に忘れ、一人学校へ取りに戻った。美夏が道具箱を取って帰ろうとすると、サッカーボールがまるで美夏を誘うように旧校舎へと導いて行くのだった。その木造の旧校舎はすでに取り壊しが決定して立入禁止となっていて、しかもお化けが出ると噂されていた。美夏はそこの女子トイレで何者かに襲われてしまう。美夏の帰りが遅いのを心配した5年生の姉・亜樹は、彼女を探すためにやはり吸い寄せられるように旧校舎へと足を踏み込む。亜樹はそこで、いたずらしようと忍び込んでいた同級生の研輔と将太、4年生で双子の弟・一、6年生の香織たちと出会う。しかし転校して来たばかりでなにかと研輔とウマが合わない亜樹は、一人で妹を探そうとするのだが、やがて自分たちがいつの間にか旧校舎の中に閉じ込められてしまっていることに気づく。そんな彼らの前に姿を現したのはテケテケのお化けだった。噂が本当だったことを知った彼らはパニックに陥る。美夏を探しに行った亜樹と香織は巨人の男の子に追いかけ回され、理科室でその帰りを待っていた男子たちも人体標本に襲われる。巨人から逃れて、偶然焼却炉から表に逃げ出すことが出来た亜樹は、いつまでも家に戻らない子供たちを心配して学校に残っていた小向先生と研輔の母・由美子、そして双子の兄・均に旧校舎の中の様子を報告し、残ったメンバーを助け出すために、再び小向先生と旧校舎へ乗り込んで行く。中で子供たちと合流した小向先生だったが、次々に襲い来るお化けたちを交わしながら逃げ惑うのが精一杯。次第に凶暴になっていくインフェルノに追いつめられていく。一方、表に残った均は、一からのテレパシーで、校内で“壊れているもの”を探し始める。由美子の友人のヤンキーたちの協力を得ながら、封魔円を校庭に描く均。“壊れているもの”が埴のハニ太郎だと気づいた均は、それを封魔円の真ん中に据えた。すると、ハニ太郎は不思議な光を放ち始めたのである。その頃、インフェルノに倉庫の隅に追いやられた小向先生たちは、非常口をぶち破ってそこから逃げようとするが、扉の向こうには闇の世界が展開するのみだった。いよいよ窮地に立たされた小向先生は、勇気を絞って闇の中へダイブ。子供たちもそれに続いた。その闇は学校のプールへ続く逃げ道だったのである。こうして脱出に成功した小向先生たちは、直ったハニ太郎を前に生還を喜び合った。しかし、そこには香織の姿がなかった。実は、香織は病気で入院している生徒で、たった今息をひきとったとの連絡が彼らに入る。不思議な体験をした亜樹たちは学年を越えて仲良くなり、夏休みを楽しく過ごすのであった。
On the afternoon of the final day of the first semester, with summer vacation finally beginning the next day, second-year student Mika forgets her paints in the classroom and returns to school alone to retrieve them. As she heads home to retrieve her toolbox, a soccer ball seems to be luring her to the old school building. The old wooden building has already been scheduled for demolition and is off-limits to the public, and is rumored to be haunted. Mika is attacked by an unknown assailant in the girls' restroom there. Worried about Mika's late return, her fifth-grader sister Aki is also drawn to the old school building to search for her. There, Aki encounters her classmates Kensuke and Shota, who have sneaked in to play a prank on them, as well as her fourth-grader twin brother Hajime and sixth-grader Kaori. However, Aki, who has just transferred to the school and does not get along with Kensuke, tries to find her sister alone, but soon finds herself trapped inside the old school building. Just then, a Teke Teke ghost appears before them. Realizing the rumors are true, they fall into a panic. Aki and Kaori, searching for Mika, are chased by a giant boy, and the boys waiting for her in the science lab are attacked by a human specimen. Aki manages to escape the giant and accidentally escape the incinerator to the outside. Aki reports the situation inside the old school building to Mr. Komukai, Kensuke's mother Yumiko, and his twin brother Hitoshi, who have stayed behind at school out of concern for the children who have not returned home. Then, together with Mr. Komukai, they go back into the old school building to rescue the remaining members. Mr. Komukai reunites with the children inside, but all he can do is avoid the ghosts that attack him one after another. He is cornered by the increasingly violent Inferno. Meanwhile, Hitoshi, who remained outside, begins searching the school for "broken things" using his telepathy. With the help of Yumiko's delinquent friends, Hitoshi draws a demon-sealing circle in the schoolyard. Realizing that the "broken thing" is Hanitarou the clay doll, Hitoshi places it in the center of the circle. Hanitarou then begins to emit a mysterious light. Meanwhile, Inferno has pushed Mr. Komukai and his friends into a corner of the warehouse. They attempt to escape by breaking down the emergency exit, but the door reveals only a dark world beyond. Now in a desperate situation, Mr. Komukai musters his courage and dives into the darkness. The other students follow. The darkness leads to the school pool. Having successfully escaped, Mr. Komukai and his friends rejoice in the sight of the repaired Hanitarou. However, Kaori is nowhere to be found. They receive word that Kaori is a student hospitalized due to illness, and has just passed away. After their mysterious experience, Aki and his friends become friends across grade levels and enjoy their summer vacation.
